The last has not been heard about the saga involving Everton midfielder Dele Alli and his Nigerian family following his statement in an interview, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
While speaking on his battle to get his career back on track, the 27 year old accused his Nigerian family led by his father for abandoning him leaving him to go through the struggle of life all on his own.
That claim has been refuted by his family, who insist that the 37 caps England international has been brainwashed into hating his Nigerian family, especially his father by the family (Hickford family) of his ex teammate now turned agent.
A family member who spoke on the condition of anonymity said all the footballer is going through is self inflicted after his decision not to listen to advises from his father for no reason.
” Look it was Dele’s father, who is my uncle that bought him his first car while he was at MK Dons. I remember that day very well because he just signed his first professional contract at the club. His father joked about it by telling him that you will be the next Okocha and he was excited at getting linked to a legend of Nigerian football”, he said.
” When Dele made his debut for the youth team of England, the talk about playing for Nigeria was still very heavy in his head. But all of that changed when he got brainwashed by the same people who made him to turn his back on his immediate family for no reason”, he rounded up saying.
