English Championship side Watford have taken the clearest step in telling former first choice goalkeeper of the senior national team of Nigeria Maduka Okoye that he has no future at the club, OwnGoalNigeria.com.

A big money summer signing from Dutch side Sparta Rotterdam, the 23 year old hasn’t matched the same height that brought about his transfer to the English Championship side as he failed to stamp his feet in the first team.

Okoye made only two appearances last season and both came in cup games. At some point last season he lost out on the role of second choice to first choice goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann to Ben Hamer.

Linked with a loan move to Italian Serie A side Udinese and an unnamed Turkish side, the former first choice goalkeeper of the senior national team of Nigeria has gotten the clearest signal that his future is best away from the club.

The club named first choice goalkeeper Bachmann as the captain with second choice goalkeeper Hamer to serve as his vice. It means both goalkeepers are the sure choice going into next season. Bachmann has even signed a new five year deal with the club.
