Leicester City raced back to the top of the English Championship after a comprehensive 4-1 trashing of Southampton, OwnGoalNigeria.comreports.

The relegated English Premier League side were surprisingly beaten 0-1 at home by Hull City before the international break, and this time around they wasted no time in flying off the block with Jamie Vardy opening scoring as early as the 1st minute of play.

A lead which was doubled by James McAtee in the 18th minute before Sam Edozie gave the home fans a reason to raise their voice by pulling a goal back in the 25th minute bringing scores to 2-1.

Both teams look certain to go into the break at 2-1 but Wilfred Ndidi had other ideas, scoring in the third minute of time added on to ensure that his team’s two goal cushion stays intact at the break. The goal was his third in six games this season.

Steve Mavididi killed any chance of a late rally for Southampton with the fourth goal of the game. The night went from bad to worse for the home side when substitute Kamaldeen Sulemana was shown a red card for a lunge on James Justine.

Aside from Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho was introduced late into the game just like Joe Aribo for the home side to bring to three the number of Nigeria internationals who ended the game.
