The camp of the senior national team of Nigeria ahead of the friendly games against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique respectively has come alive with 20 players already being put through their paces by head coach Jose Peseiro, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Nigeria will take on Saudi Arabia on the 13th of October before making it a date with Mozambique three days later. Both games are meant to prepare the team for the start of the World Cup qualifiers in November.
Nigeria will begin their quest for the 2026 World Cup with a home tie against Lesotho before travelling to play Zimbabwe in Harare, four days later. These games is the last window for Peseiro to try out new players.
So far all but three of the invited players are already in the camp of the team. The players yet to arrive are Kelechi Iheanacho, Frank Onyeka and newly invited Fisayo Dele-Bashiru. Meanwhile there are doubts over the availability of Leke Ojo and Adebayo Adeleye both goalkeepers.
