The Super Eagles of Nigeria came from behind to beat Saudi Arabia 2-1 in an international friendly game played in Portugal, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Head coach Jose Peseiro stuck with his preferred two man attack with Victor Boniface pairing Victor Osimhen in attack. As good their combination was it couldn’t provide a breakthrough for Nigeria in the first half.

One minute after the hour mark, Saudi Arabia took the lead in a rather bizarre way with Francis Uzoho diverting an aimless free kick into his own net in an attempt to tip it over the bar.

Nigeria rallied back to draw level in the 73rd minute with substitute Moses Simon having a cross aimed at Boniface diverted into the net by Abdulelah Al-Amri all in his efforts to clear the cross.

Simon was once again involved with the second goal with his layoff for Terem Moffi getting cleared onto the path of Kelechi Iheanacho, who curled home a beauty of an effort from the edge of the box for what he thought was the winner.
