Returning goalkeeper of the senior national team of Nigeria Maduka Okoye has gotten a ringing endorsement from the goalkeeper trainer of the team, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
We gathered that he has the trust and faith of Nuno Carrapato who was drafted in as emergency cover to train the goalkeepers, when the substantive goalkeeper trainer Abideen Baruwa had visa issues ahead of the first friendly game against Saudi Arabia which ended in a 2-2 draw.
Carrapato worked with head coach of the Super Eagles Jose Peseiro at Portuguese side CD Nacional and the former goalkeeper who had a stint with lot of clubs in Portugal, had good things to say about Okoye after training him alongside Francis Uzoho for two days.
” He ( Carrapato) like Okoye a lot and told us by the sidelines how impressed he is by his sharpness and abilities. Like Peseiro said I think both Okoye and Uzoho are battling with confidence when they play for Nigeria. Carrapato also thinks the same way”, a backroom staff told OwnGoalNigeria.com.
