The first choice goalkeeper of the senior national team of Lesotho Sekhoane Moerane has been promoted to the rank of a sergeant from a constable in reward for his excellent performances for his club and the national team, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

A serving policeman, the 26 year old kept two games in the 2026 world cup qualifiers helping his team to impressive results against Nigeria which ended in a 1-1 draw and against Benin Republic.

He was particularly impressive against the Super Eagles of Nigeria, where he kept all efforts from their celebrated forwards like Taiwo Awoniyi, Victor Boniface, Moses Simon, Terem Moffi and Kelechi Iheanacho from beating him. It was defender Semi Ajayi that scored for Nigeria.
