The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is one among the many nations competing at next year’s Africa Cup of Nations who are yet to make public the provisional list of players for the tournament.
Yesterday a host of countries revealed the names of the players on their 50 man list for the tournament in Cote d’Ivoire. The list will be trimmed down to 27 before the start of the tournament next year.
Nigeria’s list has been officially forwarded to CAF in line with the deadline set by the organizers of the tournament, but it hasn’t been made public as expected by many followers of the team.
A chieftain of the NFF in a chat with OwnGoalNigeria.com explained why the list isn’t in public domain, but said things could change if they decide to use another approach unlike previous years.
” Already the clubs with players on the provisional list have been notified. I can’t remember at anytime when the NFF made public the provisional list of the Super Eagles for any tournament. The ones that will be in the camp in Dubai will be made public” , he explained.
” For now I can’t say if it will be made public or not but it shouldn’t be an issue because even in previous years it wasn’t made public”.
