The camp of the senior national team of Nigeria for the Africa Cup of Nations has been rocked with the news that one of their best players in the 1-1 draw against Equatorial Guinea won’t be available for the game against Cote d’Ivoire, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Nigeria will take on the host tomorrow looking for their first win of the tournament and preparation for the game started in full swing yesterday under the guidance of head coach of the Nigerian team Jose Peseiro.
However the coach will be without the services of Alhassan Yusuf, the player he described as their best player in their opening stalemate. He hasn’t been passed fit for the game per what we exclusively gathered.
The thigh injury that led to his substitution hasn’t sufficiently healed for him to be risked in tomorrow’s game hence the decision to have him sit out the game, in order not to aggravate it .
Yusuf who was a late replacement for Wilfred Ndidi but has since gone on go establish himself in the team, is expected to be fully fit for the final group game against Guinea-Bissau.
