As many as three players who have represented England at youth levels have ended up playing for the senior national team of Nigeria and it appears that number is about to swell by one, OwnGoalNigeria.comreports.

Alex Iwobi, Ola Aina and Ademola Lookman all played for England at youth levels before making the switch to the senior national team of Nigeria, meanwhile the likes of Joe Aribo, Calvin Bassey and  Osayi-Samuel were all eligible for England before deciding to pledge their future to the senior national team of Nigeria.

They have all established themselves as full time internationals with the senior national team of Nigeria, paving the way for others who are also in the same situation to toe the same line in the nearest future.

According to Mark John who covers Chelsea exclusively, one England U21 player he is so sure will make the jump to the Super Eagles in a not too distant future is Noni Madueke, who is presently the star in the English U21 setup.

During the last international break, he scored twice in a 7-1 rout of Luxembourg which keeps their hope of making it to the U21 Euros alive. Madueke has established himself as the star of the team but John says he sees his future with the senior national team of Nigeria.

” I really think he won’t get into the England setup anytime soon and that will accelerate his decision making if the option of playing for Nigeria is still on the table. He is still only 22 but he is very ambitious. I don’t see him waiting for long before taking the next option for his international career. I personally see him playing for Nigeria in the immediate than England and I believe he knows that as well”, he rounded up saying.
