The rant made by the first choice striker of the senior national team of Nigeria Victor Osimhen against the former coach of the team Finidi George has dominated the headlines in discussions around Nigerian football, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Osimhen hit back at the coach over reports that the coach questioned his commitment to the team following his absence through injury in their world cup qualifiers games against South Africa and Benin Republic respectively.
He has been rounded criticized for his outburst with many terming it as unprofessional and despite calls for him to apologize, he has stuck to his guns and he appears to have gotten some backing from his close pal and teammate in attack Victor Boniface.
Boniface made a cryptic post on his Instagram aimed at people expecting football players not to hit back when targeted by critics, the message somehow show he is leaning towards Osimhen for his decision to fire back at the alleged statement made about him by the coach.
“Some of una think say Cus person dey play ball Them suppose dey quiet make una dey insult them I laugh you in German Some of us na werey too ooo”, he posted in pidgin language.
Translated as ” Some of you people think because we are footballers them we are supposed to keep quiet and allow you to insult us. I laugh at you in German. Some of us are also crazy too”.
