The Spanish LaLiga will resume today with Getafe taking on Athletic Bilbao in the first game of the season by 7pm Nigerian time, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
The game will be the first of two games in that will be played today with Girona taking on Real Betis in the other game. More games will be played tomorrow and Sunday as per the fixtures for the weekend.
Ahead of the game the coach of Getafe José Bordalás was asked about the club’s new signing Uche Chrisantus who was signed from third division Spanish side Cueta, and have been a revelation in all their pre season games.
A midfielder who has an eye for goal and is also assured in tackles is tipped to be one of the breakout stars of the new season, and Bordalás shares the same optimism.
“We are happy with Uche. It was a personal request of mine to the president in the winter. He has come with great enthusiasm, he has great potential. The moment of truth is the championship. Now we will know what level he can give us, we have a lot of confidence in him”, he said ahead of the game.
