The technical department of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) says they have compiled a list of players who will be forwarded to the new coach of the senior national team of Nigeria for scouting in view of a call up, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
A new coach is expected to be named for the Super Eagles ahead of the start of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers games against Benin Republic and Rwanda respectively in September.
As we exclusively reported the technical department of the NFF already sent out provisional invitation letters to players for the games, with an incoming coach expected to trim the number down to 25 for the games.
We further gathered from a member of the department, it doesn’t end there as they have a list of eligible players for the team which they will pass on to the coach when he officially resumes work for further scouting.
He hinted that newly signed Monaco forward George Ilenikhena , Everton’s Tim Iroegbunam and Elijah Adebayo of Luton town are listed in the region of players born abroad, while Uche Chrisantus of Getafe, Benjamin Fredrick of Brentford and Victor Orakpo of Ligue 1 side Nice were listed as players without dual nationality who should be watched closely.
