As many as five players of the senior national team of Nigeria have made their intention to leave their current teams clear to the management, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Top of the list is the top striker of the Nigerian team Victor Osimhen, who is insisting on Napoli honoring the agreement reached in December on his exit this summer when he signed an extension to his deal at the club.
His request which is still ongoing and has seen him frozen out of all of the first team pre season, League and Cup game so far in view of his exit despite plea by new coach Antonio Conte for him to have a change of heart.
Hot on the heels of his request is that of Ademola Lookman who stunned Europa League winners Atalanta with a transfer request, following an interest from Ligue 1 giants PSG. The Europa League final hero with a hattrick hasn’t been considered by coach Gian Piero Gasperini since his request to leave.
The latest of them all is Brentford midfielder Frank Onyeka who is a target for teams in Spain with Valencia leading the race for his signing. Onyeka who played in all of the Super Eagles games at the AFCON is seeking more playing times elsewhere after failing to get them under coach Thomas Frank.
In Belgium, one cap Super Eagles defender Jordan Torunarigha is also keen on an exit with one year left on his deal with Gent. All attempts to have him sign an extension has been rejected by the 26 year old who is the subject of interest from teams in Germany and England.
Bright Osayi-Samuel completes the list as he has so far shunned three separate contract extension offers from Fenerbahce, and not even the presence of Jose Mourinho as the new coach has made him to think differently and with a year to go on his deal he could be on the move in the coming days.
