Interim Coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Austine Eguavoen has made a slight adjustment to the squad of the team for their upcoming AFCON qualifiers games against Benin Republic and Rwanda respectively, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

The coach who will handle the team in interim capacity for both games will be without the services of Fenerbahce defender Bright Osayi-Samuel, who isn’t fully fit according to correspondence from his club to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

Eguavoen has moved swiftly by replacing him with Benjamin Tanimu who recently joined English League One side Crawley Town FC from Tanzanian side Singida Black Stars.

Tanimu was pictured arriving in the camp of the team with sources confirming that he was handed a late call up as a replacement for the unfit Osayi-Samuel, who missed the last two games of Fenerbahce. His arrival alongside Samuel Chukwueze swelled the number of players in the camp of the team to 18.

The former Bendel Insurance defender will be hoping to add to his current count of three caps for the senior national team of Nigeria, all coming under the leadership of erstwhile coach Finidi George.
