A call has been made to the Arabs who are in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to back Libya in the dispute over the suspended game with the senior national team of Nigeria which was supposed to be played on Tuesday in the Libyan city of Benghazi.

However upon arrival in Libya they were left unattended to at the airport for a period of over 16 hours, forcing them to return back to Nigeria abandoning the game.

Confederation of African Football (CAF) decided to suspend the game from Tuesday fixtures, and announced that the case has been referred to the disciplinary committee.

Veteran Egyptian commentator Issam El Shawali during his commentary on the Egypt-Mauritania match, which intended 1-0 in favour of the Egyptians said members of CAF executive committee, who are Arabs should ensure that the judgement favours Libya.

“The Nigerian team arrived in Libya and withdrew after they were treated in the same way, meaning they hit me and cried and complained before me. This is what the Nigerians did. Beware of the Nigerian lobby within CAF”, he said.

“The African Union must award the match points to the brotherly Libyan team and punish Nigeria for withdrawing. The law must be applied. Nigeria arrived in Libya and decided not to play the match, and the law must be applied.

” The Arab members of the CAF Executive Committee must stand by our sister Libya and support them. If everyone arrives to a country and then makes excuses about the reception conditions, flight delays, etc. and decides to withdraw, things will stop. The law must be applied and points must be awarded to the brotherly Libyan team”.
