Former Germany U23 defender Felix Uduokhai has made himself available for selection to the head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Austine Eguavoen, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

The 27 year old who is on loan to Besiktas from German side Augsburg represented Germany at various youth levels making a total of 11 appearances from U19 to U23, but his last involvement with the German setup came at the Olympic Games in 2021.

Prime for promotion to the main team, his path is however blocked by the presence of other established defenders, leaving him with no choice but to weigh up the option of representing Nigeria owing to his eligibility through his parents.

” He (Uduokhai) is available if called up by the coach of the Nigerian team. It will take a small process to sort it out but like other German born players in Leon Balogun, Kevin Akpoguma, Jordan Torunarigha and Maduka Okoye he knows playing for Nigeria is a sure option”, his representative told OwnGoalNigeria.com.

This season he has played in a total of 13 games with nine coming in the league , four in the Europa League as he continue to push for a permanent stay with the Turkish side who have obligation to buy him when certain unnamed conditions are met.
