The head coach of the senior national team of Benin Republic Gernot Rohr has handed the task of stopping Super Eagles from wrecking havoc through the flanks to Ryan Adigo ahead of Thursday’s 2025 AFCON qualifiers, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Benin Republic head into the game needing to avoid a defeat while Super Eagles need a point to seal a spot at the tournament. Rohr who handled the Super Eagles for almost six years is leaving no stone unturned ahead of the game.

Rohr has made it clear that stopping the Super Eagles from the flanks where they have the duo of Ademola Lookman and Moses Simon is a must if they are to stand a chance of avoiding a defeat against the rampaging Nigerian team.

The task has been handed to German born defender Adigo who plays for 4th division German side 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig , where he has been converted to a full back from either flanks.

Adigo is staging a return to the team after a two year absence, and Rohr says he will have a key role to play in Thursday’s game which will be at their adopted home ground in Cote d’Ivoire.

“With the arrival of Ryan Adigo who has been converted into a full-back, we have the possibility of using him in this position and he can play on both sides. He can be useful to us ,” he said about the 21-year-old player.
