Fans of Spanish side Almeria have made their wishes known Nigeria international forward Sadiq Umar that they want him back in the club in January when the transfer window opens, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Sadiq spent a little over two years at the club scoring 43 goals with 19 assists in 84 games. He was key to their promotion to the LaLiga two seasons ago. He also holds the record for the highest amount of goals scored by an individual in a single season at the club.
Presently at Real Sociedad where he is struggling to hit his physical best after spending a year out with an ACL injury. It has led to him getting limited game time which has in turn affected his confidence in front of goal.
His situation has left the fans of Almeria who are pushing for a return to the LaLiga to demand for his return two years after he left them for Real Sociedad.
” Fans of Almeria have been sending him messages on social media to return in January. They are presently second on the table and believe he will help them to finish strong at the end of the season”, Mohammed Mowiz Suleiman who is close to the lanky forward revealed.
” By mid December we will know his next career move, but before then he will keep giving his best in training and whenever he is played. One thing you can take away from him is his professionalism. He isn’t sulking or making excuses just working hard to get his spot back”.
