One of the main objectives of the sporting director of Sevilla Victor Orta is to sort the team’s poor conversion rate in attack by bringing in another striker in the January transfer window, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Top of his list is Brazilian forward Juninho Viera who plays for Azerbaijan side Qarabag, but their first offer of €2m was outrightly rejected openly declaring their intentions to not let the forward leave in the January transfer window.
They could however be forced into a rethink if Sevilla decide to increase their offer to €5m, but the Spanish side who are expected to return with an improved bid are not looking to go that high and will rather talk the striker into forcing his move.
If that fails, the club will shift their attention to Nigeria international striker Sadiq Umar who has been on their radar for a while, and almost joined them before his move to Real Sociedad where he is struggling to get game time.
Orta has high hopes that the Nigerian who is open to an exit from the team will be allowed to join in January on a loan deal, and doesn’t seem to be bothered by his lacking of playing time or goals this season.
However any decision will be hinge on how their push for Juninho works, but it’s clear that Sadiq is one name that is firmly in their plans for the January transfer window.
