
Promotion chasing Spanish second division side Real Oviedo have completed the signing of relatively unknown Nigerian midfielder Yahaya Yakubu, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Born and raised in the northern city of Kaduna State, He was signed from Nigerian academy Klassisch on a three year deal, which will see him start from the youth team of the club.
Described as a workaholic midfielder, he has been assigned the jersey number 4 with the club hoping he cracks the first team in the nearest future, and likely play in the LaLiga if they are able to secure promotion at the end of this season.
The club have been active when it comes to recruiting from Nigeria as Yahaya will join the Nigerian trio of goalkeeper Victor Egboh, defender Chukwuma Eze and midfielder Jordan Pereke at the club.
Oviedo Vetusta as the B team of the club is called currently campaigns in the fourth division of Spanish football.
