Norwegian Based Striker, Hoffenheim Forward Fire Nigeria U20 To Win Over Egypt In Pre AFCON Game

The Nigeria U20 team warmed up for their participation in the U20 AFCON with a 2-1 win over host Egypt in a friendly game, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Egypt who were named the new host of the tournament after Cote d’Ivoire failed to meet up with standards expected by CAF. They tested their readiness against the Nigerian team who are captain of the West African region after winning the WAFU tournament.

Top striker Kparobo Arierhi of Norwegian side Lillestrom SK gave the Flying Eagles an early lead, continuing from where he stopped in the WAFU final where he scored a brace to power Nigeria to a 2-1 win over region rivals Ghana.

Nigeria’s other goal was scored by a substitute in Hoffenheim forward Benjamin Precious from the spot with Ahmed Kaabaka getting the only goal for Egypt.
