Inter Milan could pay half of the amount Atalanta wants as transfer fee for Nigeria international forward Ademola Lookman according Bergamo-based newspaper Corriere di Bergamo, via FCInterNews.
Lookman has emerged as the prime target of Inter Milan in the ongoing summer transfer window, with Atalanta valuing him at €50 million with two years left to run on his deal with them.
Inter could also offer midfielder Kristjan Asllani as part of a bid for Lookman. That would drag the fee down – potentially as low as €25 million, reports the Corriere di Bergamo.
They also suggest that Inter could bring up the fact that Lookman is set to be unavailable in January and February due to the African Cup of Nations to further beat down the price tag.
Back in training with Atalanta, the forward felt pain in his calf during training yesterday leading to suggestions that it is a way of forcing a transfer, but the club insist that he is injured and could be out for a few weeks.
