
The deal for Nigeria international forward Ademola Lookman to join Inter Milan from fellow Serie A side is close to happening, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Lookman is a top priority of new coach of Inter Milan Cristian Chivu, and he wants the deal wrapped up quickly with fellow Serie A side Napoli and LaLiga side Atletico Madrid also pushing to sign the Nigerian.
Speaking on the drive to sign the reigning Africa player of the year, Inter director Ausilio confirms a bid of ss already been lodged and their aim is to wrap up the deal without delay: “We made a bid for Ademola Lookman, we like him”.
“We have good relationship with Atalanta but we won’t enter into long negotiations, we have our own project”.
He however sounded a warning that if they can’t get Lookman then they will switch to other targets, despite the fact that he is their main target in the window: Jadon Sancho and Nico Gonzalez? We can’t work in just one direction . This is our favorite. If we can’t succeed, we’ll find alternatives .”
Meanwhile Spanish news outlet Sport report that a fee of €45 million fixed and €5 million have been agreed for the transfer of the 27 year old, who is the reigning Africa player of the year.
According to the report, it effectively bring to an end any plans of Atletico Madrid signing the forward who was also linked to them. They say the deal is expected to be made official in the coming days.
Lookman who picked up a calf injury in training is expected to have a routine medical ahead of a possible confirmation of the deal. It is believed that the injury isn’t as bad as initially feared.
