
Napoli are willing to pay Nigeria international forward Ademola Lookman more money than what he was offered by Inter Milan in a bid to convince him to join them, OwnGoalNigeria.com understands.
Inter Milan have been locked in talks with Atalanta for the Nigerian who is valued at €50 million. A deal is set to be very close after reaching an agreement on personal terms with the 27 year old.
As discussions continue over the mode of payment on the estimated transfer fee plus possible add ons, Gazzetta and Corriere dello Sport report that Napoli have joined Inter in the race to sign the reigning Africa player of the year.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Napoli have offered Lookman €5m per season, surpassing the Nerazzurri’s proposal, which, according to Gazzetta, is €4.5m per season.
However the Nigerian has made up his mind on joining Inter Milan, hence will snub overtures not just from Napoli but also Atletico Madrid, who have also made contacts with his representatives.
A deal till the summer of 2030 have been agreed with Inter, where he will earn a yearly wage of €4.5m, rising to €5m based on success and achievements.
