
The woman national team of Nigeria have sealed a spot in the semi final of the ongoing women Africa Cup of Nations with a 2-1 win over South Africa in the semi final, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Smarting from their 5-0 win over Zambia in the semi final, the Super Falcons went into the game confident of beating the defending champions who were on the back foot for large spell of the first half.
Nigeria made their pressure pay when captain Rasheedat Ajibade converted from the spot late into the half to give Nigeria the lead, following a hand ball incident in the box.
South Africa emerged from the second half break the better side and got duly rewarded when Osinachi Ohale fouled in the box leading to a penalty to the champions. Linda Motlhalo stepped up to drew them level from the spot.
Nigeria left it late into the game, before finally scoring what ended as the winner when Gloria Alozie high ball into the box sailed into the net. It sealed the spot of Nigeria in the final where they will play the winner between Ghana and the host Morocco in the second semi final later today.
