No Decision Yet On Playing For Super Eagles – Tosin Shuns Chance To Play In September World Cup Qualifiers

Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabiyio who is currently in Nigeria says he is yet to make a decision on playing for the senior national team of Nigeria, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Fresh from winning the club world cup with Chelsea, the 28 year old visited Nigeria for the first time, and will host a youth tournament in Lagos as his way of giving back to the country of his parents.

Speaking during an interview on ARISE NEWS monitored by our editorial team, Adarabioyo said he was taken aback by the hospitality he received upon his arrival in Nigeria,. “As soon as you touch down and you step off the plane, you automatically feel that calmness, that you’re at home, you breathe the air, you just feel, it felt very special.”

“It’s my first time in Nigeria, so it’s been a very nice time. Warm welcome from everybody as soon as I landed, I had a very nice, very nice welcome. I’m experiencing everything for the first time here with my family, with my two brothers, first time being in Nigeria,” he explained.

On the issue of playing for Nigeria, with will come with the possibility of making the Super Eagles squad for the upcoming world cup qualifiers in September, the defender who has represented England at various youth levels refused to openly commit to the cause.

“It’s something I still think about. We’ll see in the near future, hopefully, and I’ll start to make a decision… It’s just something that has obviously been a topic for many years now since I’ve become a professional footballer. But again, like I said, we’ll see.”
