Coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle is in talks with a top goalkeeper to pledge his international allegiance to Nigeria, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Chelle is currently satisfied with the trio of Stanley Nwabali, Maduka Okoye and Amas Obasogie in the goalkeeping department, but sees the shot stopper as one who can improve them in that area.
He is said to have communicated his desire to the goalkeeper in question, but won’t be in a hurry to have him available for the resumption of games in the world cup qualifiers in September.
The coach will use his preferred trio mentioned above for both games in September. There is however a high chance that a new goalkeeper might join the team before the end of the year if things go according to plans.
His name was not made available to us, but the source said he plays in a major league and had an outstanding season last term out.
