The head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle is finding his task of qualifying Nigeria for the next world cup a bit steep with the decision of top players in the team, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Chelle was appointed to rescue Nigeria’s fading world cup hopes and started off with a win and a draw in his first two games in charge, but they are still six points behind leaders South Africa in their group, where they are presently 4th.

An apostle of having players in top leagues, a reason he gave as partly why he accepted the job of coaching the Super Eagles, it appears to have change in the ongoing transfer window.

A host of the top players in the team led by team’s talisman Victor Osimhen (Galatasaray) have since signed permanent deals with teams in Turkey. He was followed by midfield star and leader Wilfred Ndidi who joined Besiktas.

Lanky forward Paul Onuachu also left relegated Sunderland for Trabzonspor, and he could be joined by the trio of Kelechi Iheanacho, Frank Onyeka and Samuel Chukwueze.

The above mentioned players have all been linked with a move to Turkey before the close of the ongoing summer transfer window. The Turkish league is ranked 9th by UEFA, lower than the leagues from which the Nigerian players were signed from.
