Head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle has already drawn up the list of players who will represent Nigeria when the world cup qualifiers games resumes in September, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Nigeria will be up against Rwanda and South America respectively in back to back world cup qualifiers games in September. The games will go a long way in determining their fate of making it to the next world cup.
Super Eagles are currently six points behind group leaders South Africa, but hold a glimmer of hope with FIFA expected to deduct three points and three goals from the leaders after they fielded an ineligible player in their 2-0 win over Lesotho.
Chelle is leaving no stone unturned ahead of both games, and have gone for the best available players to prosecute both games which will see some players who were part of the team during the last round of games drop out of the team.
Barring a late minute change of mind, Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface will not make the final list of players after failing to impress the coach in previous games. He has also lost his starting spot at his club.
Goalkeeper Maduka Okoye will also be missing largely due to the ban he is facing by the Italian FA over a complex betting situation, while in goal last season for his team in the game against Lazio.
Kelechi Iheanacho and Joe Aribo will also be left out as both players are facing uncertain future at their club, and top defender Semi Ajayi will definitely miss the game after his club confirmed that he will miss at least six weeks due to a hamstring issue.
