Super Eagles Hopeful Seals Big Career Move To French Ligue 1 Side Nice

24 year old striker Kevin Carlos Omoruyi has sealed a move to French Ligue 1 side OGC Nice from Swiss side FC Basel, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

The forward who scored 15 goals in 39 games last season in Switzerland joined Nice on a five year deal for a transfer fee reported to be in the region of €6 million was officially unveiled by the club yesterday.

“What seduced us was his profile as a modern center forward: powerful, able to play support point or attack the depth,” explains Florian Maurice who is the sporting director of Nice.

“He has a beautiful presence in duels, both on the ground and in the air. He is right-handed, but has a finishing capacity of both feet, which is also a valuable asset”.

The CEO of the club was also on the same page with the sporting director of the team, and echoed the qualities that the former Huesca forward will bring to the team. “He corresponds to the profile we were looking for in front of it, with a good regularity in performance for two seasons,” explains Fabrice Bocquet.

“Beyond his obvious physical qualities, Kevin exudes a real mental strength. He is combative, very involved in work without a ball, with a state of mind turned towards effort and the collective. ”

Born in Spain to parents of Nigerian descent, he picked the senior national team of Nigeria as his preferred option for international football ahead of Spain. He is however yet to be capped by both countries at any level.
