
The Super Eagles of Nigeria had their first major training session yesterday ahead of tomorrow’s world cup qualifiers game against Lesotho, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
A total of 20 players took part in the session which was supervised by head coach Eric Chelle and his assistants. It lasted for around one hour, thirty minutes.
Two players missed the training namely Russia based Olakunle Olusegun, who isn’t expected to make the trip for the game due to entry visa issues, and Alhassan Yusuf who plays in the United States of America who is expected later today.
Chelle was clear from his instructions before the start of the training on the need to play on the front foot from the first minute. He went ahead to demonstrate that in the manner which he conducted the session.
Top striker Victor Osimhen displayed remarkable finishing abilities with the way he dispatched his efforts during the drills. His sharpness was evident from the start to the end of the session.
Team’s star winger Moses Simon also showed the form that has seen him rack up four goals contribution in seven games consisting of two goals and two assists. He was simply unplayable.
Ademola Lookman also proved his return to full fitness with a wonder goal which left goalkeeper Adebayo Adeleye rooted to the spot.
