Nigeria international midfielder Uche Chrisantus has been demoted to the U21 of English Premier League side Crystal Palace following a slow start to life at his new side, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Chrisantus joined the club on a loan deal from LaLiga side Getafe with obligation to buy at the end of the season. He has however failed to make his mark since his move.
Head coach Olivier Glasner decided to send him down to the U21s to help him adapt to the demands of playing for his team, and yesterday he was a part of the team that player against Stevenage in the football league trophy.
Stevenage triumphed 5-2 with the Nigerian who returned late from international duty playing the entire duration of the game, after missing out of the first team game over weekend due to his lateness.
Reports say his demotion to the U21 is also part of the punishment by Glasner for his late arrival from international duty, where he didn’t get to play for Nigeria in the games against Lesotho and Benin Republic respectively.
