Former Nigeria international winger Tijani Babangida says new Super Eagles winger Olakunle Olusegun shares a similar trait with him, but still has some way to go before reaching his peak, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Olusegun made his debut for Super Eagles in the 1-1 friendly draw against Russia, and was handed a spot in the team for the crucial world cup qualifiers game against Benin Republic.
He played as a second half substitute in the dramatic 4-0 win over Benin Republic, which sealed the spot of the team in the world cup qualifiers playoff.
The one thing that was noticeable in his game was his pace, and Babangida says he shares the same attributes with the winger who is on loan to FC Pari from fellow Russian side Krasnodar.
” If you talk about speed then we are similar but he is a young boy with a lot of years ahead of him to reach his level. I wish he gets to the level he is destined for in the shortest time possible”, he told OwnGoalNigeria.com.
