Franklin Tebo Uchenna has caught the attention of head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle with his performance in the UEFA Europa League for Serbian side Crvena zvezda, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
The 25 year old who started his career at Nigeria Premier Football League side Nasarawa Utd moved to the Serbian side in the summer transfer window, and has cemented a spot in the team.
So far he has played in five league games, but it’s in the Europa league, where he has started and completed all of their four games that has caught the attention of Chelle.
Yesterday he was on for the entire duration of their 1-0 win over French side Lyon, and got the highest rating among his teammates with Chelle among those watching.
It’s very likely that he will be a part of the team for the AFCON camp, if the world cup qualifiers playoff games comes too fast for him to be a part of the squad.
