” If Gabon intends to continue its growth, break through this glass ceiling, and finally progress beyond the quarter-finals in an AFCON, we must be able to compete with the top African nations, and Nigeria is one of them. This playoff match represents a decisive turning point for us, as it could pave the way to the World Cup .”

He however agreed that the attack of the senior national team of Nigeria led by Victor Osimhen who is complimented by Ademola Lookman is a threat that he is well aware of.

“We know that Nigeria, a great African team, is the favourite, and our underdog status suits us just fine. Nigeria will be under more pressure, which is understandable. But while we respect them for everything they represent, we’re not afraid of them. We know the quality of their squad, the dangers posed by Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman. And I think Nigeria knows us very well.”
