Captain of the senior national team of Nigeria William Troost-Ekong has admitted that Gabonese striker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang poses a real threat ahead of tomorrow’s world cup qualifiers playoff game, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Aubameyang will lead the attack of Gabon in tomorrow’s world cup qualifiers playoff game against the Super Eagles of Nigeria, and Ekong who will likely not start the game after losing his spot has voiced his concerns.

Ekong is now playing second fiddle to on loan Brentford defender Benjamin Fredrick, but he is still aware of the threat of Aubameyang and says they shouldn’t underrate the team of Gabon.

” Gabon is a solid team. Aubameyang leads the group and poses real problems for the defenders. In Africa, you should never underestimate a team and we will not make that mistake with Gabon ,” he analyzed.

Meanwhile the Nigerian team go into the game in confusion after the players refused to train yesterday in protest over unpaid wages. Talks are still ongoing with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) with no resolution in sight.
