The senior national team of Nigeria will in three weeks time regroup for the start of preparation for the AFCON in Morocco, after the failed attempt to pick a ticket to the intercontinental playoff after a penalty shootout defeat to Dr Congo.
OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively report that Eric Chelle will be in charge of the team for the tournament unless he decides to throw in the towel. He will however be given a new target of reaching the final of the tournament by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Chelle on his part has already drawn up his plans for the tournament, which includes dropping of some players from the team that took part in the ill fated world cup qualifiers playoff in Morocco.
Already he has three players who he intends to make a part of his squad for the tournament, in Blackburn Rovers defender Ryan Alebiosu, FC Volendam midfielder Gibson Yah and Ebenezer Akinsamiro of Italian Serie A side Pisa FC.
There will also be a return for Terem Moffi, who is likely going to replace the ineffective Tolu Arokodare, and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru of Lazio is expected to be fit for the tournament with Olakunle Olusegun getting the axe.
