The progress of AFCON bound Nigerian midfielder Ebenezer Akinsamiro at his loan club Pisa has impressed his parent owners Inter Milan, OwnGoalNigeria.com understands.
Akinsamiro has been really impressive for the newly promoted side this season, so much that he has earned a spot in the senior national team of Nigeria for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
His coach Alberto Gilardino confirmed that he will be away for a while after their game against Lecce, literally confirming his spot in the Nigerian team who will be campaigning at the Africa football showpiece in 11 days time.
Reports in Italy say Inter have been impressed with the way he has acquitted himself in the top division, as they have been following him with great interest this season and could cancel the obligation to buy option in his contract.
Pisa has a €6M option to buy, but Inter can cancel this option by paying €750k to Pisa. An idea that they have discussed internally but won’t make any definite decision until at least the end of the season.
