Paul Onuachu has been handed a return to the senior national team of Nigeria ahead of the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Head coach Eric Chelle has also handed a chance to 31 year old midfielder Usman Mohammed who plays for Israeli club Ironi Tiberias. He was also a member of the U23 team of Nigeria under former coach Samson Siasia.
Two new midfielders in Tochukwu Nnadi of Belgium side Zulte Waregem and on loan Inter Milan man Ebenezer Akinsamiro made the list owing to his performance for fellow Serie A side Istra.
Meanwhile another surprise is in attack, where Viktoria Plzen of Czech Republic forward Rafiu Durosinmi has been left out for Croatia based Salim Fago Lawal.
Lawal who plays for Istra was a late inclusion in the team ahead of Durosinmi. A shock decision considering the fact that Fago has four goals in 26 league games this season.
The former Nigeria U20 forward has six goals in all competitions from a total of 18 games.
