The son of former Nigeria international Furo Iyenemi made his debut in the UEFA Champions League yesterday for Club Brugge in their 0-3 defeat to English giants Arsenal, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Kaye Furo who was born in Belgium and have already represented them from U15 to U19 level is regarded as one of the top prospects in Belgium football.

Last weekend he scored his first goal at senior level in their 2-3 loss to Sint Truiden, and followed it up with a 23 minute appearance yesterday in the UEFA Champions League. He showed the reason why he is so highly rated.

At age 18 he was a nuisance for the defence of Arsenal and forced a foul which created a good scoring chance for his team, although it wasn’t enough to give them a consolation goal.

He earned praises for his bravery with the press in Belgium all about the way he was up for it at a level which is very high. Even his coach Ivan Leko wasn’t left out of the praises showered on the son of Nigeria’s hardman in defence during AFCON 2000.

If as expected his career grows, then there will be a fight for his international future between Nigeria and Belgium, as he is still eligible for both countries at senior level.
