Head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle has decided to go with a four man attack for today’s AFCON game against Tanzania, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Chelle has decided to stick with his favourite diamond formation with two wingers playing behind the top two strikers, per what we noticed in yesterday’s training.
We can exclusively reveal that the idea is to fully maximise the attacking talents in the team, and also to play on the front foot from the get go against a team they expect to sit back.
For now is certain that Victor Osimhen will be paired by Ademola Lookman in attack, with the Atalanta man showing some of his best levels in training lately.
The duo of Ademola Lookman and Samuel Chukwueze are favourite to man the flanks, but very narrow unlike traditional wingers in the classic 4-4-2 system.
They can however switch to a traditional formation base on how the game progresses. Yesterday’s training they were mainly perfecting the diamond formation and the movement of the four forwards in the formation.
