Head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle is not in anyway scared of dropping Victor Osimhen from his team ahead of their quarter final game against Algeria, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Osimhen was involved in a pitch bust up with his teammate Ademola Lookman over the decision of Bruno Onyemaechi not to pass the ball to him, during the Super Eagles 4-0 win over Mozambique in the quarter final.

He asked to be subbed off and subsequently refused to join the team in attacking play leaving head coach Eric Chelle with no option but to replace him with Moses Simon.

At the end of the game , he snubbed the team’s post match celebration and subsequently left the dressing room earlier than anyone else still very angry from the situation that happened on the pitch.

Like we exclusively reported he has refused to apologize for his actions even after a meeting yesterday to sort the issue, which is threatening the team’s smooth sailing performance at the tournament.

” It’s unfair to say Chelle is afraid of dropping Osimhen from the team because there is no need for that, but if he is left with no option then he has to do it”, a backroom staff explained.

” What happened during the game against Mozambique is in the past and we have to keep our momentum going by seeing it as nothing extra. Osimhen and Lookman are among our best options in attack and we won’t be in a hurry to drop anyone for an act that has been addressed”, he concluded.
