German side RB Leipzig are firmly in the driver’s seat as the race for the signing of Nigeria U20 winger Sani Suleiman hots up, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
The 19 year old has received offers from a hot of clubs with Trenčín willing to sanction a deal in January, rather than wait till the summer.
According reports Sani is on the radar of Dutch outfit NEC Nijmegen, the Spanish side Villarreal, English Premier League sides Brentford and Chelsea FC, as well Italian giants AC Milan.
However in a remarkable switch of events, RB Leipzig are now seen as the favourite for his signature with a fee of around €7m reported as what Trenčín are demanding.
“AS Trenčín received several January offers for Sani Suleiman, but RB Leipzig are now clearly leading the race ahead of all other clubs involved.
“The transfer fee is expected to be at ~€7m, with the next days set to be decisive for the future of the 🇳🇬 winger”, transfer expert Rudy Galleti posted on his X handle.
