The attitude of Luca Zidane the goalkeeper of the Algeria national team shortly after their 0-2 defeat against Nigeria has been termed as embarrassing by Moses Simon, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Nigeria defeated Algeria convincingly in the quarter final clash to book a spot in the semi final, while the North Africans exited the tournament after winning all of their games before the game against Nigeria.
A scuffle ensued after the game, with players of Algeria protesting on not been awarded a penalty during the game. They went after the referee but they also didn’t spare players of the Nigerian team.
” Zidane their goalkeeper was fighting everybody. He first started with Raphael (Onyedika), then later switch to Fisayo ( Dele-Bashiru). Just when he was getting calmed down he went after Stanley Nwabali. I have never seen something like that before”, Simon said.
” He (Zidane) was fighting for no actual reason. It’s football and we have all been at the receiving end of such a painful defeat. Such embarrassing attitude shouldn’t come from professional footballers with children watching in the stadium and also at home on television”, he stated.
