Head coach of the senior national team of Morocco Walid Regragui says the team’s midfield ace Azzedine Ounahi won’t be available when they take on the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the semi final of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Morocco will take on Nigeria tomorrow without the services of the 25 year old, who is yet to recover from the injury that has kept him out of the round of 16 and quarter final games.
His last involvement was the 3-0 win over Zambia in their final group game, where he bagged two assists. He was tipped to be fit for the game but Regragui confirmed he won’t be available for the clash against Nigeria, after initially teasing the media that he is back for the game.
“As for the injuries, I’ve got good news. Ounahi will be able to play tomorrow… Nah, just kidding, he’s injured. Romain Saïss is indeed back, we’ll see tomorrow. Aside from Ounahi, everyone is fit and can stake a claim in the squad”, he said.
Nigeria on their part will be without the services of captain Wilfred Ndidi, who is suspended for the game after picking up two yellow cards in the knock out round of the tournament.
