Coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle has left the door open over a potential move to take over as the coach of Tunisia after the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Nigeria will be up against the host for a spot in the final later today, and Chelle who has so far surpassed expectations with the brand of football that Nigeria is playing at the tournament has become a target for many African countries.

Top among them is Tunisia, and like we exclusively reported they are willing to double his current wage of $50,000 a month with Nigeria, and also hand him the reign to lead their team to the 2026 World Cup.

Chelle was put on the spot by Tunisian journalist Nazih Kerchaoui, after the pre match conference ahead of today’s game with a very direct statement. ” Coach welcome to Tunisia”, he said in a viral video.

Responding Chelle said ” Insha Allah”, which in Arabic translates to ” God willing”. A reply which has now put his immediate future with the Nigerian team uncertain despite having a contract that runs to 2027.
