Head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle will later today run the rule on Rangers defender Emmanuel Fernandez in today’s UEFA Europa League game against Ludogorets, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
The 24 year old has caught the attention of some to the top teams in Europe this season with his goal scoring prowess for the Scottish side from his role from the centre of defence.
He has five goals from 16 games in all competitions, and according to reports he turned down the chance to join English Championship side Norwich City in the ongoing transfer window, with the belief that he will have more options in the summer.
Chelle is well aware of his presence and use today’s game to check up on him once again, and will push for him to commit his international future to Nigeria as he is also eligible for England.
Sources close to the coach says they know convincing him to pledge his future to Nigeria won’t be difficult, because he hasn’t been capped at any level by England.
