Not so many players make the kind of transfer that Uchenna Ogundu just made to German Bundesliga side Augsburg from Turkish side Alanyaspor, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
The 19 year old is a graduate of Nigeria’s “Diamond Youth Academy” and moved to Turkey in the summer of 2024 to join Turkish third division side Şanlıurfaspor.
However at the end of his contract he wasn’t given an extension and Alanyaspor in the top division picked him up on a free this summer and he’s scored two goals in 17 Süper Lig appearances.
Augsburg, the only team to have beaten German giants Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga this season saw enough to seal his signing now rather than wait till the summer.
Ogundu is a hardworking forward who is blessed with blistering pace and close ball skills. He is expected to take his development to another level with his current move to the German side.
