Former Real Madrid and Germany international midfielder Toni Kroos has fired back at comments allegedly made by former captain of the senior national team of Nigeria John Obi Mikel, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Mikel who spent ten and half years at Chelsea now runs a podcast, where he usually invite guests largely his former teammates and also give his opinion on burning issues.
On his podcast which has grown into a very popular one, he was quoted to have said Kroos who won five UEFA Champions League with Bayern Munich and later Real Madrid, and also won the World Cup with Germany was a mediocre player.
The quote has however been confirmed to be fake as Mikel never said those words, but it’s coming after Kroos replied with a sarcastic answer questioning why Mikel never played for Real Madrid.
Mikel”s Fake quote:
“Toni Kroos has been a mediocre midfielder. I was a better player than him. The big difference was that I didn’t play for Real Madrid”
Toni Kroos’s reply:
“And why didn’t you play for Real Madrid?”
